The Mission of Family Promise is to help homeless families with children find jobs and affordable housing through a community-based response. This involves a network of local area churches who Host Families by providing overnight sleeping accommodations and a hot supper for one week at a time on a rotational basis.

There are many ways to Volunteer! (some with training requirements, some without!)
1) To Donate Food & Supply Items…there is NO TRAINING Requirement.
2) To Prepare a HOT MEAL...there is NO TRAINING Requirement.
3) To Set Up or Take Down the Host Site's Guests accommodations... there is NO TRAINING Requirement.

To interact as a DINNER or OVERNIGHT HOST… there are TWO (2) TRAINING Requirements
All Host Volunteers who interact with Guests are required to complete:
1. An informative Family Promise Training Session and complete a Volunteer Application.
2. The Archdiocese of Milwaukee's mandatory Safe Environment Training.
To Volunteer for the above, your name must appear on the Family Promise AND Archdiocesan list of those who have completed all of their Training Requirements. Once it does, you will be Emailed the Web Site where you may SIGN UP for Dinner &/or Overnight Host openings.

Safe Environment Training.
Registration is required online to attend the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's mandatory Safe Environment Training. You may take this class anywhere in the Archdiocese. To register online, Click the logo below and follow the blue "register here" tab. If you have already attended A Safe Environment Training Session, you do not need to attend again. However, you are required to update your background check every 5 years.
