Service Hour Ideas

Hebrews 6:10 - God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.

7th and 8th grade students are to begin their journey of life-long service to others by completing 15 volunteer hours per year. Remember: Helping others can be fun! There are many areas of service you may explore. Use the examples below to guide you!

Volunteer hours can be counted when you use your time to benefit someone/something else without being paid for your service.

Examples that would qualify as volunteer hours are: coaching/tutoring, raking leaves, shoveling snow, helping an elderly family member with daily chores, church related activities (Mass ministry, mission trips, volunteering at a church festival), helping at the humane society, volunteering at a school activity/function, serving the community with a non-profit organization, participating and fundraising for walks such as Relay For Life, helping at a fundraiser event in the community, etc.

Please chart your service hours accordingly. You may use the sheet below or a prior sheet that you have used in the past. There is also a reflection chart listed that needs to be completed and turned into Rebecca Gaertner in the Religious Education Office.
