Grades 9 – 11 (Confirmation Preparation-Three year Program)

Religious education for grades 9 through 11 takes place on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month from 9:00 – 10:15 AM (followed by the 10:30 Mass). All students are strongly encouraged to attend Mass as a part of their class. Class will take place in the Activity Center. The class will be taught by staff members and guest speakers. The objective is to provide our young people with a dynamic learning environment where the youth connect meaningfully with the Church. The three year  program will include the study of: The Liturgy, Morality, and Scripture, and the Sacrament of Confirmation. In recognition that the Christian life is a life of service to God and to each other, students in grades 9-10-11 are required to perform 20 hours of service each year in the parish and the community. A retreat is also a part of preparation for grades 9 and 10 and Confirmation

In the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, 11th grade is the year in which the Sacrament of Confirmation is traditionally conferred. In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the student is prepared – and challenged – to assume responsibility for the baptismal promises made for them by their sponsors in Baptism, and to take their place as a fully initiated adult member of the Church, the Body of Christ. For more information on preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, please contact the Director of Religious Education, Sue Bashynski at 262-363-7615 X121
