Staff Member: Sue Bashynski
Hi! My name is Susan Bashynski and I am so excited to be the new Director of Religious Education for grades K-8 here at St. James! I’m looking so forward to meeting everyone involved with RE as well as the entire parish. So far I have felt very welcomed from everyone I’ve met. I thank you for that.
I recently graduated from Cardinal Stritch University with a B.A. in Religious Studies and a minor in Philosophy. I have been involved in catechesis for about 6 years as both a volunteer and a DRE. I have a passion for evangelization, and teaching others about Christ, and the Catholic Church. I truly find reward and joy in my vocation! I hope to use what I’ve learned to add to the amazing program already in place here! Working with the entire staff at St. James is a blessing. Everyone is so knowledgeable, and kind! It’s quite humbling!
Just a bit about me; I am married to Vince and together we are the parents of 3 amazing special needs adopted children. Christ is the center of my life, and as you get to know me you’ll find that I enjoy sharing the great ways he moves in my life every chance I get! In my free time I enjoy contemplative prayer, baking/cooking with/for friends and family, swimming and spending time on retreat.
My life motto is found in the Gospel of Matthew 16:24: Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
