Emmaus 90
What is Emmaus 90? It is a 90-day adventure encountering Jesus in the Eucharist. It is a scripture/prayer initiative from the Office of Evangelization. The Archdiocese is encouraging all parishioners to participate in this prayer challenge. Emmaus 90 is part of our 3-year Eucharistic Revival, bringing awareness and recognition of the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
Why Emmaus 90? Simply put, we need to recognize Jesus in our lives! Let your New Year’s Resolution be to strengthen your relationship with Jesus through the Eucharist.
How does Emmaus 90 work?
1. Register with the Archdiocese by December 10 and receive a guidebook/journal.
2. Ask 2-3 friend to commit to pray every day with the recommended scripture and find opportunities for regular confession and adoration. (December 14-15 at St. Peter’s)
3. Meet with this group once a week to discuss
4. Every Thursday evening, a livestream presentation will be available. You can watch individually or with your group. Some parishes are holding “watch” parties. This has not be decided at our parishes as of yet. You may want to schedule your group meeting on Thursday nights or later so you can discuss the video.
How can I prepare?
Begin today praying to the Holy Spirit to help you discern how understanding the Eucharist can help you be a better disciple. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you ask 2-3 friends or family members to join you. Pray for guidance to help you LIVE Sunday. Take Sunday into the rest of your week and share you experiences with others.
