Grief Share Support Group
Our Griefshare group is especially for people who are grieving a loved one’s death. You’ll learn:
- How to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays
- What about traditions and other coming changes
- Helpful tips for surviving social events
- How to discover hope for your future
One-Day Grief Share Programs:
We would love to start our GriefShare Support Group on Tuesdays at 6:30pm in the lower level of the St. James Parish Center, Room 11. Fall sessions are designed to give you coping strategies and a hope for brighter days ahead. But, we need facilitators.
What is a Facilitator?
A person that guides and shepherds a small group. The primary role of a facilitator is
to create an atmosphere of warmth, caring, and trust in the discussion group. This
person will also encourage discussion and a time of personal sharing about what is
going on in the lives of each participant in their group.
A Facilitator will need the following characteristics:
1. Profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, this is the foundation for healing.
2. Demonstrate spiritual maturity—be active, participating members of the parish
3. Have experienced grief—those that have experienced grief have an intimate understanding of the needs of someone suffering with grief.
4. Have recovered from their grief—have experienced considerable healing (at least one year after their grief event).
5. Have a sense of calling—the need to do work for the Lord.
Ask yourself these few questions:
Have you experienced the deep grief of losing a loved one to death?
Have you learned valuable lessons and experienced healing from the hurt?
Would you like to help others do the same?
Then please call the Parish Center at 262-363-7615 ext.125 or e-mail hittr@stjmuk.org.
